Kiva Programme and Anti-Bullying Week
Rathangan BNS have started using a new evidence based anti-bullying programme, developed in Finland. KIVA uses a wide range of concrete tools and materials to tackle bullying. Our whole staff have been trained. We are now a KIVA school!
To acknowledge the beginning of this new programme, and to mark anti-bullying week, we held a launch day on Friday, 22nd November.
5th and 6th class boys were busy all week preparing lessons to teach all the other classes as an introduction to bullying. They spoke so well and led an activity on the lasting effects of any type of bullying.
Mr Kelly spoke, the infants showed off their beautiful artwork promoting a respectful, anti-bullying environment and Ms Quinn’s class performed impactful dramas for the school!
“You’ve got a Friend in Me” was our song of choice.
Well done to everyone involved. We’re excited to witness this wonderful programme in action in classrooms.
